Production surveying

Production surveying is geodetic surveying, setting out and quantity verification while the project is being built. We set out positions from the documents and survey what has been built, in railways, civil works and buildings. You get the right position in the field and quantities that can be verified.

When do you need it?

  • Something needs to be set out or check-surveyed during production.
  • Quantities need to be verified, including at tender stage.
  • The track needs to be surveyed during production.
  • A road, bridge, utility line or other civil structure needs to be set out.
  • A building or foundation needs to be set out.

What we do

  • Carry out control measurements or project-based production surveying, with particular expertise in railways and tunnels.
  • Set out, survey and document positions against the documents.
  • Carry out quantity checks at tender stage.
  • Survey control networks, locate cables and carry out control measurements during production.

Railways

  • Provide survey staff with Trafikverket class 2 authorisation and a survey manager with class 1.
  • Create track geometries and prepare track adjustment and lift lists.
  • Survey during track alignment, when the track is to be positioned according to a designed track geometry.
  • Carry out design surveys and surveys for as-built documentation.
  • Set out objects within the track area.
  • Provide track safety staff and safety supervisors for Trafikverket's and SL's facilities.
  • Safety training: Säkerhet i spår, BASÄVISTA and track and tunnel authorisation category 19.
  • Training via a partner network in SoS leader, Säkerhet i spår and BASÄVISTA.
  • Use total stations with 0.5 or 1.0 second accuracy, and surveying with GEOSP or a track measurement trolley. The equipment follows the project requirements and SIS-TS 21143:2016.
  • Carry out FOMUL measurements by laser scanning.

Civil works

  • Carry out production surveying for roads, bridges, streets, railways, airfields, tunnels and utility lines.
  • Set out the drawing's position on site. The achieved position is surveyed and documented.
  • Follow up machine control so that the machines have current model files.
  • Produce as-built documentation when the project is complete.

Buildings

  • Survey during new construction of buildings and infrastructure.
  • Set out buildings and foundations, for example for new housing.

What you get

  • Set-out and surveyed positions against the documents.
  • Quantity documentation from checks and tenders.
  • For railways: track geometries, track adjustment and lift lists, and documentation for as-built records.
  • For civil works: documented positions, current model files and as-built documentation when included.
  • For buildings: set-out positions for building and foundation.

How it works

  1. 1. We agree whether the assignment concerns railways, civil works or buildings, and which requirements apply to staff and equipment.
  2. 2. We set out, survey and verify quantities during production.
  3. 3. You get documented positions and the documentation listed in the scope.
  4. 4. You keep decisions, approval and contractual responsibility. The scope is set in the assignment.

Frequently asked questions

What is production surveying?

Production surveying is geodetic surveying, setting out and quantity verification during production, for railways, civil works and buildings.

What is included for railways?

Surveying of track during production, with staff and equipment according to the project's requirements. It can include track geometry, track adjustment and lift lists, setting out and as-built documentation.

What is included for civil works?

Setting out and surveying of roads, bridges, utility lines and other civil structures. The drawing's position is transferred to the site, and the achieved position is surveyed.

What is included for buildings?

Setting out of buildings and foundations, and surveying during new construction, for example of housing.

Where are laser scanning and digital twins?

They are on the laser scanning page. FOMUL measurement on railways can be carried out by laser scanning.

Does your project need production surveying?

Tell us briefly about the project. We will go through the need and propose a scope.
